2011 LNYC Keelboat Midwinters

Eight U20’s had a great weekend of racing at LNYC’s Keelboat Midwinter regatta. And Mid-Winter it was indeed! Cool temperatures (even for the Canadian teams) on Saturday with breeze of 8-10 out of the ESE, followed by COLD on Sunday, mid to high 30’s with 10-15 out of the NNE. Despite the very dire forecast for rain both days, we escaped what would have made the regatta really miserable. The Race Committee did a great job of getting in 5 good races over the 2 days and the racing was tight in each of the races, with only seconds separating the top 4 boats. The regatta will move back to its customary 3rd weekend in March in 2012 (which by the way, was in the 80’s this year!)
