Title: Caron Mast Spreader bushing?
Post by: Clifford Begnaud on May 17, 2011, 01:54:15 PM
I'm rigging up my carbon mast and the last step is to drill the end of the spreaders for the shrouds. It seems like the shrouds would cut into the carbon spreader, should a bushing of some sort be used to prevent this. What are you carbon equipped guys doing?
thanks,
Cliff

I have used a small piece of shroud plastic cover (snap-on cable covers - West Marine $1.99).  About 2 inches and taped a small section each side of the spreader so it does not move within the spreader.  Looks good and does the job.
