My boat has some king of non metalic halyard. Not sure what it is. Has anyone tried amsteel rope ? What are owners using these days as replacement.
Thanks
André

3/32"x 25'-2" wire - eye/eye

We've been using Amsteel for the last few seasons, and I know of a few other boats using it, or something similar.

I think that we are using 5/32" Vectrus 12 with eye splices in each end. Vectrus was the choice of the person doing my splices. It it works great except that the splices will fit through the block at the top of the halyard. One great thing about it is that it does not get meat hooks that will cut your hands.
We are using Amsteel to lift the keel.
