The Hospice Regatta being sailed at Western Carolina is Oct 14,15 & 16. This is the 4th leg of U20's SAYRA championship. We normally have 4-5 Ultimates for this event. Below is the NOR for the event. 2011 Hospice Regatta October 14-16, 2011
Western Carolina Sailing Club, Anderson, SC
Rules
This regatta will be governed by RRS 2009-2012.
Expected Fleets
The regatta is open to all sailors, adult and junior.
Keelboat course: PHRF A, PHRF B and Keelboat One Design Fleets*
Distance course: PHRF C, PHRF D
Dinghy/multihull course: Centerboard or Multihull One Design Fleets* and Open Portsmouth.
*Note: Five boats of any Class constitute a One Design Fleet

1800 Welcome Party – Heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, and soda with music
Saturday, Oct 15
0800 Registration and Breakfast
1000 Registration Ends
1030 Competitor’s meeting
1200 Warning Signal Race One**
1800 Social Hour (Refreshments, hors d’oeuvres)
1900 Dinner will be served, Door prize drawing following dinner
Sunday, Oct 16
0800 Breakfast is served
1000 Warning Signal First Race of the Day, No Warning Signals after 1300
Awards and Lunch ASAP
Registration
Pre-registration by October 7
is strongly encouraged in order to reserve meals and t-shirts and can be accomplished
by completing the registration form attached or registering online at www.wcsc-sailing.org. Registration fee for each
boat is $55 ($75 after October 7
) for adult skippers ($50 if a member of US Sailing). Registration includes: Entry fee,
one weekend meal pass which includes welcome party Friday night, bag lunch for skipper and crew, one Saturday
night dinner, and breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning. Extra meal passes are $25 for adults and $10 for juniors.
Trophies/Awards
Trophies will be awarded at least three deep in all fleets. The winners of each Fleet (must have 5 boats registered in
a Fleet) will be entered in a drawing to determine who will compete in the Hospice Regattas National Championship
which will be held in St. Petersburg, FL in 2012. A perpetual trophy will be awarded to the winner of the drawing.

Hey Chuck. BJ and i were hoping to make it this year. He broke his wrist today en route to helping Don at the Mallory on LNYC so it looks like he is out for the rest of the 2011 season. we are disappointed. Have a great regatta. Emily

Team scram #159 has been registered for some time and will be there. The Ultimate 20 Class being the fast, fun, freindly & fair folks that we are will be once again be a sponsor for this event. Bad news about BJ and his accident this morning, ya know, sometimes people will do the strangest things to get out of a little work. Yesterday BJ put up the jibs on the eleven U20s for the Mallory Cup races satrting today and we certainly missed him today on the water manning the U20 support boat.

How many U20s are coming? Will we be sailing OD or PHRF?

So far you and I are the only ones racing. I haven't heard of anyone else coming. Steve normally brings 228, 50 and his mixing machine.
