The top cap of my keelbox on #121 is failing. It is cracking through the fiberglass and continues to worsen. After a home-repair that didn't take, this winter I'm going to have it professionally redone. Any recomendations from anyone who have had this done before regarding what instructions to give the pros before they begin the job?? Thanks!

Michael,
I don't know where you have the boat, but I would suggest that you take it somewhere that understands sportboats with lifting keels. Where are you located?

Any pictures of the current problem?

I am located in Anacortes WA. There are many boat builders and the like out here.
I've been trying to get photos on this thing, but I'm having trouble as they are all too big...

Michael,
I would recommend a location that understands a sportboat with a Keel that lifts like ours. Not all boat repair places have worked on boats like the Ultimate 20.
I have taken my boat 6 hours away to a repair location that I can trust.
Good Luck,
Gregg

Try CSR Marine - they have a great reputation and do most of the J24 fleet work. I know of 3 Melges 24s that they have repaired too.

Keel box is done. #121 has gotten a nice facelift from the smart folks at Anacortes Rigging & Yacht Services.
Sea Trials this weekend...

Great news - good luck!
