Title: Ideas for securing companion way door

Curious as to whether people have come up with ways to secure the companion way door while sailing.  I have had occasions when the boat is on its side and the waves lap very close to the edge of the companion way.  If I leave the door in without securing it, how much risk is there that the door might fall out into the water?
