I,m thinking of sailing over to Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles for a few days. Does anyone have pics of a sun shade while sitting on a mooring? Looking for some ideas. I'd like to be able to walk/crawl through to the bow so maybe use some fiberglass tent poles over the boom to keep it high enough and have a zippered flap for the front for wind protection.

Something like this but higher. Probably attached to the shrouds and a tent pole towards the stern.

Glenn,
I have a piece of nylon fabric that is big enough to reach both sides. It has some holes with toggles for shock cords to attach. I stretch it from the stanchions over the boom.
Works ok as long as the wind isn't blowing hard. It's pretty low budget. If you find something more professional, please share.
Thanks for chartering your boat for the NOODS. It was good to have Jimmy, Bobby and Marty at the regatta.

Thanks Travis, I have the boys sailing with me this weekend in king harbor on the j92. We've been friends for quite some time now so I just loaned them the boat. Unfortunately my viper crew was stuck in Kansas and couldn't find last minute crew for noods.
