Title: Bottom Paint

New owner of older boat with peeling VC17 bottom paint. Will be removing the VC17 by sanding, then applying race bottom paint. Any comments recommendations or words of wisdom? Should I just remove the VC17 and not repaint, or repaint with a special race bottom.

Personal preference is no bottom paint.
