U20 General Discussion / Re: Square Topper

As a PHRF Board member, I can tell you that once you deviate from the standardized class rating (ODR), you open yourself up to a whole new can of worms based on your performance unless there is a written formula in your local phrf rules that stipulate an predicted adjustment.  I could see as much as a -12 second penalty for a Laminate material square top sail.

Does anyone have a source and part # for the nylon pulley wheel that is on the keel crank?

The calendar has two more events scheduled for the Season Championship:  the Pacific Coast Championships to be held in the end of September in Park City and the Great Pumpkin to be held in the end of October at the Richmond Yacht Club.  The High Sierra and the Nationals at Huntington Lake were well attended and the competition was stiff at all levels.  Of the teams currently qualified for the Season Championship (7 event points or more), Team Peabody is in the lead at 78.3% (High Point Score) with Team Udecide at 66.7%, Team Hard Drive at third at 65.5%, and Team Uhoo! trailing at 46.2%  However, the remaining events offer other boats at chance for trophy eligibility with the PCCs counting as two event points and GP as 1 point.  If you have any questions on where your team stands, contact me and I can fill you in.  Good luck!

U20 Boat Maintenance & Care / Vang/Cunningham Mast Fasteners Loose - Pictures Added
« Last post by John Lee on August 12, 2024, 05:31:20 PM »
I noticed the screws that go into the Mast for both the vang and cunningham attachments are loose and won't tighten.

What is the nature of the female threads for these fasteners? Are there nuts or a slug inside the mast that need to be held while tightening?
