2010 Voting Results
« on: May 19, 2010, 02:36:18 PM »
To all members,

The anticipated wait is over!  The vote tallies are in and here are the results.

GPS Speed - with 96% of the votes "Yes"  GPS Speed is now approved.

And the one you all have been waiting for.....

Drum Roll Please.......

Carbon Rig Allowance - with 94% of the votes "Yes" Carbon Rig is now approved.

I will be working on updated the current class rules!

A special thanks to all who worked so hard to get data to make this possible.  A few special notables - Drew Harper for getting the ball rolling, Pete Juryn and Albert Heller who continued the effort.  To others that pitched in $ to get the first protoype produced and the U20 Class board for working with me to finish this up.

As we move forward, I am sure that there will be members that would like to make a Carbon Rig purchase.  Let's make sure that we make sure all are given the chance to order to allow for the greatest discount we can get.

Respectfully,

Gregg Henning

53 ballots returned!  One of our best turnouts....  Better than any election in the United States, don't know about Canada!

C-Tech in New Zealand

Albert Heller did the original order and has everything setup to continue.

Maybe you can use them to do some exercise to lighten your boat or maybe just you!

To All Members,

I have updated the class rules on the Ultimate 20 Website.  Also, I have sent the updates and discussed this with the Chairman of USPHRF/LMPHRF which now has a copy as well.

As always,

Respectfully,

By the way, who makes our bowsprit pole?  If C-tech is going to be our mast partner, should we also get a proposal from them on bowsprits (for replacements and new boats)?

Generally the kiwi dollar (NZD) has been increasing in value relative to the USD over the last year.  Currencies are pretty difficult to predict and signficant swings in the exchange rate could change the overall price pretty significantly.  The other issue we will be dealing with is negotiating a bulk purchase that will include both CAD and USD in one buying group (that could get interesting from an exchange rate perspective).

I am wondering how Albert did it the for the first 20 and am interesting in hearing the approach for a larger volume purchase ~40 I would guess.
