Spinnaker Pole U-Bolt and Block Assembly

I need the help from those who have replaced the Wichard U-Bolt and/or Harken block assembly on the spinnaker pole. My block is slightly damaged but is still okay (see attached photo). I'm tempted to unscrew the two screws located at the opposite end of the assembly. I'm assuming that this will release the U-Bolt, which will allow me to replace the block. Before I do this and to avoid any mistakes, is my assumption correct? If not, what is the best way to change the block?

I use a 40mm carbo airblock from Harken and tie it to the U bolt. You would have to cut off the old block but you wouldn't have to mess with the U bolt.

I replaced it once.  The whole thing.  My rubber bushing was torn through so I had to replace the whole thing.  It is not especially difficult to do, but a replacement must be ground down because the stock u-bolt is actually longer than the pole is thick (and it is tapered).  If all you are doing is changing out the block that should be no big deal.  I went with a Ronstan Orbit 55 because it has the Dyneema lashing to keep from tearing up that rubber bushing in the future.  It has been two years since I switched it out and just inspected it yesterday.  Everthing still appears in great shape.

Having replaced several of them, I'd suggest using the Harken #2636 40mm Carbo Air Block because it swivels so won't get worn out by the line.  I'd advise cutting the old block off as the u-bold can sometimes be a bear to remove and worse to replace.
