Boomkicker on a carbon rig

I'm a newby and my new baby, #184 - Monsterface, has a carbon mast and boom plus the original aluminum boom. I also have a Boomkicker which had been mounted on the aluminum mast but not ever on the new carbon and I would like to set it up for convenience while messing with the main (my 11 and 14 year old crew are helpful but having the boom float around in the cockpit is a bit cumbersome!). Here are my questions:

1. Is this a worth while venture? I'm a little anxious about messing with my carbon (I know, perhaps irrational but I'll suck it up if it's worth it).

2. How shall I approach the boom attachment? There are 3/16" screws for the boom mount but should I use stainless or aluminum rivets instead? I can't see how I could get nuts inside the boom for those screws.

3. There is a mast attachment that currently takes the top purchase of the vang. Should I use it for the kicker and use a purchase plate to handle the vang?  (See link below)

maybe these might work 'knurled rivet nuts' the stainless ones.

some viper owners used this to mount their spin halyard cleat to the carbon mast. but then again the loads aren't quite the same as the u20. but i think it should do the job.

The carbon mast came set up to accept the boom kicker. I did not buy the boom so don't know. Welcome to the fleet!
Also, do you care to sell the aluminium boom?

I was just evaluating the situation with my Boomkicker and I think I'll opt to keep the aluminum mast since it already has the mount for the kicker. Charlie Cushing also just pointed out that the carbon boom is not class legal so I need to keep it anyway for when I get up to racing. Problem solved. Thanks for your inquiry, though!
