2020 Regatta Schedule

All be advised that many of the regattas listed below are being canceled or rescheduled.  Please check the local details (NOR) to confirm!

The Columbia Sailing Club will be hosting the Easter Regatta on March 21-22. The new name for the regatta to be given soon.    Ultimate 20s will be invited.

NORs are posted for the Columbia Sailing Club's "Easter" Regatta in Columbia, SC on March 21 - 22.      This regatta has historically been primarily a J24 event and one of the larger J24 events in the SE.   This year the regatta moved to a new date and is open to J70s, J24s and Ultimate 20s.

Camping is allowed, as usual, with bathrooms and showers at the clubhouse.  Food truck on Friday night.  Dinner and drinks (included in cost) is served on Sat and an after-party at the famous "Billy Ray's Barn".

Another regatta to add to your calendar is Southern Bay Race Week in Hampton, VA.  Three days of racing at a great venue.  So far about 6-8 committed.  If you go to sign up U20 class will be an option soon.

Columbia Sailing Club's Easter Regatta now called "Nor Easter" has been cancelled due to increasing concerns with the spread of Covad 19 (Coronavirus).  Those who have signed up probably received this email from the Commodore:

"Hello this is Bruce Seiffert again the Commodore of Columbia Sailing Club. Per my earlier email I have heard from a couple of you regarding having to cancel reservations and one regarding airfare and what way are we leaning on canceling? Based now on what has transpired in the last two hours in the world of sport on we are going to CANCEL the Nor Easter Regatta and hoping to see you next year. Thank you for your support and hope you and yours remain healthy >> Take Care!"


International Sunfish Class Association has also cancelled their Midwinters US Championship, Master and Team Championships, so this seems to be a rapidly growing trend in sport.

It's a bummer to add to this cancelations on this thread.  Bob confirmed that the High Sierra has been canceled this year.  We had planned to hold the Pacific Coast Championship there.   We'll see if a new venue is possible later in the year.  The San Diego NOOD was moved to the fall.  There may be other alternatives as well if restrictions open up and there is interest.
