Northern/Northeastern US and Canada Summer schedule.
« on: April 02, 2010, 04:48:19 AM »
Planning for my scant OD racing puruesing the schedule for the summer and I do not see Detriot NOODS in June nor the Sarnia event in the in the beginning of July, nor the Duluth regatta mid July, which follows to NAs etc.  I do know a few sailers with tow vehicles that could make these events into a northern teir series of old complete with the Dobie sponserd Pickle Dish with little or no logistical support.  Let us get these dates up on the site and start arranging trucks drivers and crew in a reasonable pattern.  I would hope this list would include people who are willing to charter their boats at a small cost.

My bad, I usually get the Northern Tier schedule out sooner, but with no snow in March and ice out already I got confused and thought we had moved South.

Anyway here's my OD schedule for the Northern Tier:

Detroit NOODs 6/4 - 6/6
Sarnia - Canadian Lake Huron Upper Midwest Ontario Championship  7/2-7/4
Duluth - (tentative, based on getting 6 boats) 7/17-7/18.
Of course then it's on to Lake Dillion for the Open and the NAs.
First place in the series gets you a pickle dish.

Since I'm towing Steve's boat he's probably in for these as well.

That would be correct.

Don't forget to add Cork,at Kingston Ontario, August 27-29.  Like Tac said that was some of our best sailing last year.  Oh yeah and the party will be much better this year as well - its now in the Viper Pan American Championship with a major Sponsor -EFG bank

Also, Don't forget the NOD at the Nepean Sailing Club -its the weekend before Sarnia.  For those that are doing Sarnia - why not Drop the boat a week early in Ottawa and I'll bring it to Sarnia for you the following week.

First I want know why I'm listed as an Old Timer, Nate gets to be a Middle Lifer and Steve's a Virgin!

Had a great time in Ottawa at NAs and I would love to do Kingston, mostly because I hear the winds are consistently strong.  Oh and there's that Canadian beer too.  However, our drive to Sarnia is 11 hours, add your drive from Ottawa to Sarnia to that number and it's too far for us this year.
