Spreader Mount
« on: April 03, 2017, 01:15:52 PM »
We have managed to bend the aluminum mount that runs thru the mast that the spreaders attach to. Will it cause any concern simply bending back into place? Obviously this is a pretty important part and breaking it under sail would be a very bad thing. Second question is does anyone know where to source a new one, or will I need to fabricate one myself?
Thanks - Brian

My advice would be to check with Ballenger.  http://www.ballengerspars.com

Good luck!

Thanks Travis I will take a look. Also I looked at the U20 setup guide and I guess this spreader bar is stainless steel and not aluminum. Perhaps carefully bending back into place would not stress it as much as if it were aluminum.

Sure, the spreader is stainless and can be bent back into shape with no problem, not out flat though.  Each side tips up a few degrees.  Sorry I did not see this post earlier............. Don
