Roller furling lead belowdecks
« on: November 11, 2023, 01:24:10 AM »
Here is a tweak I did on M&M (#127).  I took the roller furling line belowdecks.  Super simple.  Drilled a hole in the forward bulkhead (is it really a bulkhead?) allowing he roller furling line to feed back at the exact angle it comes off the spool.  Then I flipped the fairleads above decks to below decks.  At the trailing end I drilled a hole through to the cockpit and set a cleat below that.

Zero turn blocks to get fouled.
Zero lines on deck to roll your ankle on when reefing (this happened!)
If the line fouls you can work the sheets against the roller furling line to untangle
If the line fouls in the fair leads below you are un tangling below decks, rather on a foredeck with no life lines.

Thoughts?

Additional cleats and blocks may be added. The spinnaker halyard block and the spinnaker halyard exit block may be replaced with a single halyard exit block.
