Loos Guage Conversion Chart
« on: August 04, 2023, 03:42:41 PM »
Just wanted to share this chart that I made for some of us who have different size shroud wire and the corresponding tensions.

Steve, Thank you for this.  Is the first number KG and the 2nd number the Loos equivalent?  I bought a Spinlock gauge and have been trying to convert the Doyle tuning guide over to Spinlock KG's equivalents.  This will help give me some data to compare with.

First number is pounds.  I have a Spinlock gauge as well but don't like it and have given up on it.  Anybody wants to buy it, let me know.

Anybody know if you can use a Loos PT1 for 5/16 dyform shrouds? If so, is there a conversion for that wire type?

Also, if anybody need one of these, I have 3 of them now (been collecting them from different boats for years...)

The difference in the PT-1 for the 5/32 1x19 and the 4mm Dyform shrouds is negligible. The tension register quite similarly with the Metric gauge.  Certainly not a difference maker.
