RYC sounds great. The regatta is also going to be the Wyliecat 30 class championships, so the club will do a good job (meaning they’ll have good race management and a Saturday night dinner). Fall is the most consistent conditions for U20 sailing on the bay too.

So far I have seen these boats commit to the RYC regatta; Breakaway, Viola, Toon Town, Uhoo!, Too Tuff and Layla. Are there any more? I would hope we can field double digits for this or Huntington which looks like the other leader.

I like the idea of a 3 day series at Huntington.  I would propose two late start races on Friday (like skippers meeting at 1:45PM and 1st shape at 2:45PM).  Then we would get 5 races in total and no throwouts.  This would avoid people having to add an extra day to their trip...

Jay Harland’s poll shows five votes each for both Huntington and RYC. Perhaps other folks need to vote and settle the debate. Which option would the Colorado and Utah folks want?

On the topic of three-day regattas, I just got an email from RYC, and they are planning Friday racing for the Antrim 27 class at the October race. It looks like we have two excellent options for our PCCs at either Huntington Lake or Richmond. From John Dukat:

“The Antrims asking about Friday racing   (i.e. make it a three day nationals)
If Friday is an option  you could get in 7 races over three days.
If your fleet is interested…
For Friday races I see the start in the SLOT  noon start 1.5 to 2 mile weather leg wind depending.”

Look at my earlier post. I took that from one of your posts Tom, if all showed that would be 6. I am planning on going to the RYC (I have never sailed in the bay) so that would be 7.

High Sierra is in the bag.  Congratulations to Bob Comstock with dominating upwind sailing that no other boats could quite match!  Nevertheless, the conditions were fantastic and all the boats were in a pretty tight pack both days.

We wanted to get beyond High Sierra before thinking about any other racing.  We have some interest in this championship proposal for RYC, but I am still a little fuzzy on the racing details.  Can someone who is in the know flesh out the details a little bit and what the current plan is for this regatta?

I qualified for the Mallory cup so I will be going to Lake Norman. The Bay will have to wait another year.

The Richmond Yacht Club has posted the U20 Regatta for October 7,8, and 9.    I have been in touch with John Dukat who is the club contact and he wants indicated that Antrim 27s will be racing for 3 days and he wanted to know if the U20s would like to do the same or just Saturday and Sunday.   Looks like a great venue and number of races for a Pacific Coast Championship.   Who all is in?

I'm still in.  I'd like a 3 day event if we can get 10 boats.  Are the San Diego U20 owners on this owner's site yet?  I know they were on the old Yahoo forum, but I have not seen any postings here yet.
