Pensacola Winter Racing

Hey guys, Pensacola yacht club is putting together their winter schedule and wish to invite the U20's for a Keel Sportboat specific Regatta either Feb 4-5 or March 3-4. This would make a good addition or substitution to the racing further south. The benefit would be a much easier regatta to attend with less hassle to launch and retrieve your boat, less travel time, storage available to those who wish to leave their boats for the nationals and finally an excellent way to get to know Pensacola Bay as a tune up for the nationals. PYC is looking for input so if any of you are interested in the above dates let me know and I will forward on to them.

the first weekend is best for us to attend. The march weekend conflicts with another event. BUT, it is warm enough then?

Lets see, a Canadian asking if it's warm enough in Florida in February?   Seriously average tempeture for Feb in Pensacola is 64H to 45L. Of course we get fronts that pass that can lower night temps into the Upper 20's with highs in the 40's for a day or two. This regatta is being driven by the Flying Tigers and the upstart (for this area) Trip 26 Fleet. The Flying Tigers like the time a venue so much they have done it for the last couple of years and make it an annual event.
