First we would like to remind you of two very important dates:
March 1: Any entries received or paid after this date are subject to a $50 late fee.  Click here to enter today and beat the late fee.
March 4: Deadline for classes to meet eligibility requirements (need 6 boats to form a class).  See a live list of entries by clicking here.
Please click here to enter the regatta if you haven't done so already.  And please click here for the live list of entries to see how many others have signed up in your class.  If you see that your class has less then six, contact your friends, and get them to sign up!
Now a few notes about the regatta:

Parties, parties everywhere...you spoke, we listened.  This year, the Sperry Top-Sider NOOD Regatta parties in San Diego will be at the Coronado Yacht Club on Friday night and at the San Deigo Yacht Club on Saturday night and Sunday after racing.  Plus stay tuned to hear what Sperry Top-Sider has in store for you this year....new and improved parties await you!

West Marine helps NOODs go Green...that's right folks, West Marine will have a water table set up so that you can fill your reusable water bottles (that will be in your skippers bags) and give those disposable plastic bottles (and the environment) a break.

NORTH Sails has you covered...North Sails and Southern Spars have partnered with Sailing Weather Service to provide free detailed daily weather forecasts for the Sperry Top-Sider San Diego NOOD Regatta from March 15-17, 2013. To sign up, visit the North Sails online weather center: http://na.northsails.com/weather.aspx.

Tim Wilkes will be the official photographer for the San Diego NOOD.  Check out his amazing photography at www.timwilkes.com/.  Or click here to check out the 2011 San Diego NOOD that Tim shot for us.

Stay tuned...Sperry Top-Sider has helped the NOODs make new developments and there will be party details to come.

J70s, j80s! I'm  just thinking of the hoist chaos if all the trailerable boats show up there. I may need to borrow someone's bridal.

The U20s and V640 get to have all the fun to themselves at Coronado.

Launching will be smooth and easy. Always great breeze in the lower Bay.

The smaller classes of trailer boats are sailing out of Shelter Isand.

Went up to marina del Rey to take the mast down. No easy task by yourself! I'll probably be heading down Thursday. Scot tempesta has chartered our boat so beware! Give him a wide berth. I don't want any scratches. ;(

Friday Report:

3 races in a wide range of breeze in SD South Bay.  The U20s lived up to their reputation of fair and spirited competition.  The fleet leaders as of today really earned their spots. They had to work hard for every boat the entire regatta. In races 1&3, the entire fleet finished tightly together.

Dave Reed, editor of Sailing World, drove a U20 for the first time. In the first race he rounded the weather mark first ( both times ). Scot Tempesta, editor of Sailing Anarchy, also drove a U20 and did very well.

On to tomorrow  !

Sorry it will be my only trip west this year.
