Thanks again for all of those who traveled to Racine to sail in the NA's it was awesome seeing old friends, meeting new ones and seeing some of the new teams move up the score sheet as the week went on.

Congrats to Mark Allen and team for absolutely putting on a clinic the last two days to come from way back to win the event. Congrats to the Wiggins family for sailing a great event with the "kid" driving for Mom and Dad. As usual if you want to do well in this class you have to keep up with the Jones and their 3rd place showed that once again.

Looking forward to next year wherever that is.

Thanks to my crew for putting up with me!
Cheers

Still on the way home from Racine as we left this morning.  We had a great time there again as we did nine years ago thanks to Gregg and the RYC team.  Plus a great venue!
Congrats to the Allen, Wiggins, Jones, Chambers and Boston teams for their terrific performances.
Great turn out and nice to meet new faces in the class and appreciate them coming to this event.
Truly great to see three out of the four Kansas U20s making the trip, the class' newest fleet in the making.
Thanks to all.........

We had a great time at our first NA's and learned more from this weekend of racing than any other regattas we have competed in with any of the other boats we have had. One of the many things we really like about the U20 class and this weekend's competition was the debriefing and the open advice. Everyone in the class made us feel welcome and we truly appreciated that. We have 4 U20s at our club in Kansas that all made the trip. I have a feeling that the remaining races we have this year are going to be quite exciting based on the experience we all had. We may not have the waves and chop in Kansas, but at least now we know how to sail in them.
Thanks to everyone that worked so hard to put on such a wonderful regatta and congrats to all the competitors.

The LA boys just made it home and would like to add our thanks to Greg and his team for a great N/A's. We had a great time and also learned a lot. Looking forward to doing more "away" regattas in the future.
This was our first N/A's and we will be back.
Thanks again to the class and all participants for a great regatta.

Congratulations Mark!  Stats of the Day -

1.  Since before 2008, only Tac Boston in 2011 had a lower average score on the final five races to close out an NAs than Team Junta.
2.  6 of the top 10 boats had at least one bullet.
3.  No boat at NA's escaped without including at least a 6 or worse in her final score.

This type of racing is what makes the major U20 class events so great!  Also, for those of you in the back half of the fleet (where I was last year at my first NAs and where I learned an incredible amount) go back to the results from the 2008 NA's and look where Team Junta was in the fleet.  There is hope and the top boats are always willing to provide advice and encouragement.  The fleet gets compressed and everyone has more fun and tight racing.

The U20 soap box is just too fun...can't help myself.

Wow Jay. That is awesome. I think for me, committing to traveling to these major regattas from the begining is where I have learned the most and my program has really developed. I am sure it would be different if the class was not so open. The Boston family and everyone at Doyle Boston sails has been huge helping my program. Thank you Tac for selling me a new Velocitec right before the regatta when my Rockbox died.

Jay, see you in Park City in a few weeks.

Great stuff here folks with the on board video and sideline statistics.  Also let me correct my previous post "ALL FOUR (100%) of the new Kansas fleet made the trip to the NACs (not just three)".  What if the Bayview YC and or Lake Norman YC had made a similar attempt to do this?  We would have had a record turnout for sure.  Hey, the 22 boats that attended offered plenty good competition and we had a great time once again in Racine.  We have a terrific fleet that has been fun to participate in for the past seventeen years, just a big WOW!
