A couple years ago I made the switch to a Torqeeedo on 227. 50 still has.a 2 stroke. While not perfect, I'm pretty satisfied with it.
The class rules state:
Outboard motor of at least 2 hp, motor bracket, and a minimum of ½ gallon of fuel or penalty weight of 30 lbs., secured to the interior mast support.
Does my torqeedo fulfill these rules?
1. it's a 3.0 hp engine
2. I carry 2 or 3 batteries at 30 lbs each. (1.5 to 2.25 hrs run time at full throttle -when charged)
3. The 1/2 gallon of gas is an issue..
Or I could lash the spare battery to the mast support as the penalty weight and be done with it.
Thoughts?
