Dropped off the trailer.....
« on: October 20, 2025, 06:37:01 PM »
Not the call I expected to get Friday morning.....

Apparently in the process of doing some tree work a club volunteer moved my boat from its parking spot, hit another tree, and knocked it off its trailer. The keen eyed among you will notice the broken trailer strap on the bow, that had actually parted before this incident, and I had the replacement in my vehicle already; just hadn't installed it yet. That said, had that been attached I wonder if said person would've just snapped the rig.

So, Nationals on hold for me, unless I get on a different boat. The individual involved was appropriately apologetic and has offered to cover damages, which hopefully is just a very thorough and extensive bottom job and maybe some work on the keel trunk. I'm posting here because there's a lot of knowledge that could be gleaned, but fortunately there are some local people that are pretty knowledgeable.

Terrible CJ.  Sorry to hear this, I hope your boat has a speedy recovery.

I got the rig all the way down today with the help of BJ Jones, setting up a time to get it to the local fiberglass guru, and have another ride for Nationals. See you all there.
