Racing
The Ultimate 20 was
built for racing, whether one-design or PHRF. Light, fast, and
responsive, the U20 loves competition. National, regional and
local fleet events can keep racing skippers busy. Because the
boat is so mobile, allowing owners to travel easily, competition
remains keen no matter where the races are held.
The U20 Class has
held National regattas annually since 1995. Our Nationals rotate
from the west coast, to east coast, and central, giving everyone
an opportunity to participate and balancing the travel time between
racers. The 2002 Nationals were held in Detroit, Michigan, hosted
by Bayview Yacht Club.
Regional events such
as NOODs are well attended with U20 section starts in many regattas.
Local fleets don't let any grass grow on their bottoms either,
challenging other U20s as well as PHRF boats.
