Winter Sailing
« on: November 25, 2014, 04:11:23 PM »
Pensacola Yacht  club has again invited us to the intergalactic keelboat regatta March 14th or 21st.  This would be a great opportunity to do some winter sailing in NW Florida before moving to Columbia for the Easter Regatta.  The date is fluid at this point so early input from would be very helpful in determining which weekend and if it will be a two or three day event. Also if their is enough interest I can put a schedule together of other events in the area from December through March.  New Orleans has both the Sugar Bowl and Mardi Gras regatta, Mobile Bay will have the Senior Bowl to name a few.

Thanks Billy.  The Lake Norman Mid-Winters are March 14,15. For those making plans, the Easter Regatta in Columbia is April 3,4,5 (racing Fri, Sat and Sunday). It might be a stretch for folks to consider 3 regattas so close together on the calendar if Intergalactic was March 21,22.

Is there any interest in traveling to the Gulf Coast this winter or early spring other than the March 21st date?  There are a number of regattas we can plug into between January and May that I get a class start. I just need some feed back to see if there is any interest before I do a bunch of organizational groundwork.
