2010 NA's Dillon Colorado
« on: December 10, 2009, 01:34:18 AM »
Hi Everyone

On behalf of Colorado Fleet 4 I would like to invite you all to the 2010 Ultimate 20 North American Championships.

Location: Lake Dillon Colorado
Date: August 2, 3, 4 2010

The Colorado U20 fleet consists of 10 active boats and we have a very active fleet with 7-9 boats showing up at all the local regattas. A great group of guys and family that help out at all times and make things happen. We are honored to hold the NA’s here and present the class with a memorable experience for 2010.

Being centrally located in the middle of the country we feel that this will be an excellent location to hold the N/A’s. Drawing U20’s from both Coasts and the Midwest there is the potential of upwards of 25 to 30 boats and maybe more attending. Currently we have 15 boats committed to coming on the Class website and look forward to seeing that number continue to rise.

The Dillon open is scheduled for July 31st & August 1st and is one of our premier Regattas. We see boats numbering 100 plus form U20’s, J80’s, J24’s, J22’s, Star’s, Etchells and more. http://www.dillonyachtclub.com/

This will give everyone a great opportunity to get some tune up time on the lake prior to the NA’s
The Dillon Yacht Club is located at the Dillon Marina on the East shore of Lake Dillon. Established in 1968, the club has approximately 200 members. DYC has an active history of competitive sailing and has produced a number of world-class sailors. The club has an excellent reputation for managing the largest sailing regatta in the Rocky Mountain West in often varying conditions. The club is also known for its on-shore activities.
The Dillon Yacht Club is situated within the Town of Dillon Colorado and is adjacent to many other family activities including a beautiful park, outdoor amphitheater, bike trails, dining, hotels, and shopping. The Club is just a short drive from other Summit County Colorado attractions and destinations like Breckenridge, Frisco, Keystone, Silverthorne and a quick 70 mile drive from downtown Denver and its many attractions.
The area has something for everyone in the family and is a major destination here in the west. The area offers fishing, camping, biking, Hiking, Kayaking, Sailing, power boating,.
So mark your calendars pack up the family and crew and join us for an awesome time.
Keep your eyes on the class website for updated information coming soon.

Any recommendations on accomodations?  Love that walking (stumbling) distance to the docks or back..... Goombay's tend to do that.   ;D

We're gonna be there, and it sounds like there'll be a good fleet. Thanks Jim and the other Colorado folks.

I'm planning to make the trip.  May even do Double-Dam if it is the weekend before or after.

Sounds like a great venue, and within striking distance of the Northern Tier.  We are changing the dates on the U20 Lake Superior regatta to ensure that the 5-7 U20's that do the N. Tier can make Lake Dillion.

Wow, 20 boats already. 30 boats at the NA's is starting to look like a very realistic goal.
